"Apollo" featured a dazzling performance in the title role by new
DTH member Rasta Thomas, a dancer of perfect control and fierce focus -
you can't possibly take your eyes off him. The first collaboration between
Balanchine and composer Igor Stravinsky, "Apollo" blends classical lines
with angular, modern shapes. It ends, like "Serenade," with an upward
procession - it can no longer remain earthbound.
-The Seattle Times
"Look out, world. Rasta Thomas has arrived."
-Jennifer Dunning, NY Times
"Rasta is one of the most remarkable artists
of his generation."
-Alexander Dubé
"The Kid's a Genius!"
-Debbie Allen, Choreographer & Director
"What would you get if you took the best of Baryshnikov, Bruce Lee, and
Michael Jackson - it would be Rasta..."
-Entertainment Tonight
"A Force of Nature, a Dance Phenomenon."
-The Hartford Courant
"The romantic image of ballet predominated in the
scene and it arrived at its greatest technical expression and artistry when
Paloma Herrera and Rasta Thomas executed the Pas De Deux from El Corsaire..."
-El Universal
